This program is named in honor of BJ — our uncle, a proud U.S. Navy veteran, who passed away and left a mark on everyone who knew him. We carry his name forward in the hope that no veteran has to face hardship without someone in their corner.
My name is Azriel Wilkinson. I served 7.5 years in the United States Air Force, and like a lot of veterans, I know firsthand what it means to transition out of a structured, mission-driven life into a civilian world that doesn't always have a place ready for you.
What breaks my heart is how many of my fellow veterans end up without stable housing — people who gave everything for this country, not because they don't want better, but because the support systems aren't where they need to be. BJ's Transitions exists to be that support. To honor BJ's memory by doing for other veterans what we wish someone had done for them.
We built this program in Temple, Belton, and Killeen — right in the heart of one of the largest veteran communities in the country — to be the resource we wish had existed. A safe place. A real home. No judgment, no bureaucracy — just stability and a community that has your back.

Are the homes furnished when I move in?
Yes. Every room is fully furnished with a bed, storage, and essential furniture. Shared common areas include a kitchen and living space. Bring your personal belongings — we take care of the rest.
What utilities are included?

What is "independent living with support"?
It means you live on your own terms while having access to a structured, safe community and a support team when you need them. No required case management — just a clean, stable home with clear community guidelines.
Who is eligible for BJ's Transitions?
We serve veterans, seniors, and displaced adults who are ready to live independently and committed to maintaining a drug and alcohol free environment. We accept referrals from VA programs, social service agencies, hospitals, and other community organizations.
Do you accept VA benefits or housing vouchers?
We accept assistance on a case-by-case basis. If you receive VA housing benefits, a housing voucher, or other assistance, mention it when you apply and we'll work with you on what's possible.

How long can I stay?
